It sits flush with your finished floor and supports all types of flooring, including laminate, luxury vinyl plank (LVP), vinyl, hardwood, engineered hardwood, tile, ceramic, porcelain, cork, bamboo, and carpet — up to about 20 mm (¾ inch) thick. Thinner floors can be shimmed to sit level (see below).

Just build up the base under your insert piece — thin plywood, underlayment, or spacers — until the flooring you drop in sits level with the surrounding floor. This lets you match almost any floor height for a seamless look.
